UTJ member uses offensive anti-semitic slur against Yesh Atid member

I thought the Haredi politicians couldn't get any more disgusting, until Israel Eichler proved me wrong:
An argument broke out in the Knesset Monday evening between an ultra-Orthodox lawmaker and a Yesh Atid MK in which the former called the latter “a Jewboy who tattles on his fellow Jews” and described another Yesh Atid party member as a “murderer.”

The argument broke out over a demand by MK Israel Eichler (United Torah Judaism), the ultra-Orthodox lawmaker, to establish a parliamentary inquiry committee that would examine the use of state’s witnesses against politicians. The demand came after claims by a state’s witness that he had given a false testimony about a former minister that led to the minister’s conviction for bribery, breach of trust and other offenses.

MK Elazar Stern (Yesh Atid) responded to Eichler’s demand by berating him from the podium. “Eichler doesn’t exactly love Jews and doesn’t exactly love the State of Israel. He doesn’t believe in a lot of the institutions of the State of Israel. He thinks that he decides who is a Jew, who is religious and what type of kippa [skullcap] everyone ought to wear,” Stern said, adding, “Maybe one day he will repent and understand that there is also manners and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Eichler, in turn, bluntly attacked Stern. “Elazar Stern reminds me of the Jewboy who informs and tattles, who works for the ruler against his Jewish brethren. No secular person would dare battle with such hatred and hostility against the hesder yeshivas, the Chief Rabbinate and religious Zionism. We can’t expect loyalty to the Jewish people from someone who betrays the heritage of his ancestors.”

He continued, “MK Stern in particular, and his colleagues who delegitimize and incite against ultra-Orthodox children day after day, are preparing public opinion for a war between Jews. Only MK Stern and his ilk are the ones that will destroy the Jewish state with a civil war.”

MK Mickey Levy (Yesh Atid), a former Jerusalem Police commander, called out to Eichler that he was an “inciter to evil.” Eichler, in response, called Levy a “murderer.” Eichler later asked to apologize for using the word “murderer” but did not retract any of his other statements.

The Hebrew term Eichler used in his attack against Stern was “Yehudon,” which translates to “Jewboy,” a term that was imported to America at the end of the 18th century from London. Over the course of the next two centuries, the deragatory word would join the ranks of other anti-Semitic slurs such as kike, sheeny and others.

This is not the first time Eichler has made headlines with his inflammatory statements. In February 2016, he compared Reform Jews to the mentally ill in a tirade against the Reform Movement and the High Court of Justice over the latter’s decision to allow people who did not convert through the state-sanctioned, Orthodox system to immerse in public ritual baths.

“Not every mentally ill person can come to the operating room and decide the rules of medicine and force the hospital to have an operation by whatever way works,” Eichler said.

In December 2017, Eichler attacked American Jews, saying that millions of them assimilated because they were “cut off” from their religion as a result of being "forced" to work on the Shabbat after emigrating to the U.S. Eichler went even further a few weeks later, comparing the assimilation of American Jews to a “quiet Holocaust.” The lawmaker added that "not a trace of American Jews will be left because of work on Shabbat."
Now that is really crossing the line. A socialist who'd rather people of his ilk all languish on welfare without working and building up the country for the benefit of mankind, that's Eichler for you. He should resign from the Knesset already. For now, he's demonstrated how "loose cannon" the Haredis can be.

Guatemala and Paraguay move their embassies to Jerusalem

First, it was the USA, now it's Guatemala and Paraguay's turn to show a fine step can be taken. First, here's the news about Guatemala from a few days ago:
The United States received intense international criticism on Monday when it celebrated the opening of its embassy in Jerusalem. It was the first country to make the "provocative" move from Tel Aviv.

But on Wednesday, Guatemala joined the U.S. in moving its embassy to Jerusalem.

More countries are preparing to make the leap. Paraguay's Foreign Ministry announced that its embassy will also relocate to Jerusalem, while the Czech Republic, Romania and Honduras reportedly considering the move.
And on that note, here's the news about Paraguay:
Paraguay’s President Horacio Cartes officially inaugurated his country’s new embassy in Jerusalem Monday, making Paraguay the third nation to relocate its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the Israeli capital city.

The move comes a week after the US unveiled its new embassy in the Arnona neighborhood of Jerusalem. Two days later, Guatemala transferred its embassy to a temporary facility in an office building in the Malha neighborhood of southern Jerusalem.

“It is an honor for me to be here today,” President Cartes said at the opening ceremony Monday.

"This occasion is of special significance because it expresses the sincere friendship and brave solidarity between Paraguay and Israel." continued Cartes.

"From the depth of my heart, I appreciate this country that courageously defends its right to live in peace and it is building a praiseworthy economically prosperous state that ensures its future and that of its children."
They've done the right thing too. It's to be hoped that more countries will be moving their embassies soon as well, and when they do, they'll be sending a positive message that any European country that won't move so far would do well to pay attention to and learn from.

The strongest historical sanctions on Iran

The US secretary of state Mike Pompeo has made clear Iran faces some of the sternest sanctions if they don't comply with demands to cooperate:
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the Trump administration is preparing to impose “the strongest sanctions in history” on Tehran after withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal earlier this month, as he laid out a laundry list of demands for a new treaty.

“We will apply unprecedented financial pressure on the Iranian regime,” Pompeo told the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank based in the nation’s capital, in his first major speech outlining Washington’s strategy for curtailing Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its “malign” regional behavior.

“The sting of sanctions will only grow more painful if the regime does not change course from the unacceptable and unproductive path it has chosen for itself and the people of Iran,” he added.

“Sanctions are going back in full effect, and new ones are coming,” he warned further. “The Iranian regime should know this is just the beginning.”
What's certainly obvious is that Iran's not going to cooperate, and their dictatorship will have to be taken down one way or another if that's how to stop them from committing nuclear warfare and torturing their own citizenry.

It's good they're getting tougher on Iran than the Obama administration was. Iran cannot be allowed to reign as they are much longer.

Schools in US should have guards and metal detectors

The parent of a student slain in Parkland's tragedy argued in favor of establishing guards and metal detectors at schools in America:
COOPER: You talk about anger, and I know you have been turning that anger into action ever since your daughter was killed. You're focusing on school safety. Do you think anything has changed? I mean, are we in the same place as we were before the parkland shooting?

POLLACK: Well, I think not much has changed because it happened again. You know, after 9/11, there hasn't been one hijacking that I know of ... but today, we sit here, me and you, talking and it's the 22nd school shooting of this year. Now when is enough going to be enough where people say listen, we need to have single-point entries and metal detectors at the school just like in a courthouse or at a stadium. We're safe in a stadium, but we let our kids go to school and they're not safe.
Well he's right, and if it's done today at Israeli schools and such, it should be all means be emulated at schools elsewhere in the USA too. So when are school administrations going to start making the arrangements to ensure their students will be safe?

An associate of the Paris knifer worked in immigration

The French police arrested a Chechen associate of the jihadist in Paris who worked in the immigration department:
A friend of Chechen Paris attacker Khamzat Asimov has been revealed to be an employee of the French immigration agency and married a woman known to be a radical Islamic extremist.

The friend of the attacker, identified as Abdoul Hakim A., was arrested Sunday following the terror attack which saw Chechen immigrant Khamzat Asimov stab several people in Paris, killing one and injuring four others.

Abdoul Hakim A. had been considered a “moderate Muslim” and had been employed at the Office of Immigration in Strasbourg since January, French newspaper Ouest France reports.

According to reports, Abdoul Hakim A. was born in the Chechen capital of Grozny in 1997 and moved to France when he was 13 with his mother. He befriended terrorist Asimov in high school.

While he allegedly told investigators that he was a moderate Muslim, he married a woman known to not only be a radical Islamic extremist but who is also said to have attempted to travel to Syria. The French intelligence services is reported to have kept tabs on the couple shortly after their marriage.
In other words, he committed taqqiya. Now are they going to make sure he's no longer employed, and try to get him deported back to that hellhole in Chechnya where he came from? They'd better make sure he's shown the door from France as soon as possible.

Gunman in Florida attacked Trump-owned golf resort while ranting about the POTUS

It looks like another political act of violence has occurred in the USA, at the Doral golf resort, which Donald Trump certainly owned in past years:
Police say they shot and wounded a man “ranting” about President Donald Trump inside the lobby of the Trump National Doral Miami resort at around 1:30 am EST Friday morning.

“The man — who was not a guest at the resort — waited in the lobby for police officers to arrive before luring them into a gunfight, authorities said. During the gunfight, the unidentified man was struck several times in the lower body. No workers at the resort or guests were injured. A Doral cop hurt his wrist,” reports the Miami Herald.

Miami Police have identified the suspect as Jonathan Oddi, 42, of Doral, Florida.

“We are not saying this is terrorism … we are not discounting anything at this point,” Juan Perez, director of the Miami-Dade Police, told reporters.

“We still have a lot of work to do,” added Perez.
Well give the authorities some credit for stopping the gunman before any serious harm could've occurred. This is disturbing sign of leftists going unhinged in the Trump era.

Population projections for Haredi society are less than prior estimations

In some interesting news about what the size of the ultra-Orthodox community could be like in the future, it's actually lower than previously thought:
The size of the haredi (ultra-Orthodox) population by 2059 will be significantly lower than previous forecasts have predicted, according to a new study by the Taub Center for Social Policy Studies released on Wednesday.

Although the Central Bureau of Statistics recently forecast that the haredi population would be 50% of the Jewish population by 2059, data from the haredi education system indicates it will be 35% of the population by then, the study by Prof. Alex Weinreb and Nachum Blass said.

The study showed that among pupils in the country’s different education systems – state, state-religious and haredi – those in the haredi system increased at the fastest rate between 2001 and 2015.

But, from 2013 to 2015 the growth in the number of pupils in the haredi system was 7.5% lower than would otherwise be expected from data regarding the fertility rate in the haredi sector.

The study found that a significant cause behind this lower growth was changes in the religious orientation of students and their families, reflected in student transfers between education streams.

[...] According to the researches, previous studies have shown that trends of decreased religiosity continue until 12th grade, and about 15% of haredim in each generation are expected to leave the sector.
Interesting. If they're leaving the lifestyle behind and integrating more with regular society, including the non-Haredi religious community, that's a good thing. It shows they're trying to join the workforce too, contribute more to society, and above all, obtain better education as well. Which is an excellent thing indeed.

Education ministry should not ignore cases of Haredi soldiers whose children are barred from anti-military yeshivas

The Jewish Press says the education ministry's going soft on ultra-Orthodox yeshivas shunning children whose parents serve in the army:
Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman MK Dichter (Likud) said on Tuesday that ”Based on the answers of the Ministry of Education, I understand that the state is adopting an approach of surrender, instead of acting with all its might. Those who prevent a relative of an IDF soldier from receiving state services should shake in their boots. We will deal with this issue at the next session of the Knesset and we will demand to hear more concrete solutions.”

MK Aliza Lavie (Yesh Atid) said, “I receive many calls from women whose husbands serve in the army and their children are not accepted into schools or preschools, because they are always last in line.”

The committee members wished to know why the Ministry of Education is not more active in this fight and Benayahu Tabila, representing the Haredi Dept. of the Ministry of Education responded that “our mission is education and the challenge is to ascertain that as many Haredi children as possible receive the proper education, while in many Haredi communities this has already created opposition against us, and therefore it is uncertain whether we should be the spearhead in the fight for enlistment.”
This is not good if the ministry's failing to address the problem, presumably because they don't want a fallout with the Haredi parties in the Knesset. Any yeshivas pulling this crap should be barred from receiving any state funding, that's for sure.

If Haredis in London are discriminating against non-Jewish apartment buyers, of coruse that's wrong

Here's an article on a lawsuit that was filed in London against a Haredi group in housing:
A lawsuit was filed against Jewish Housing Association in London's Stamford Hill neighborhood over the fact that the association, in cooperation with the municipality, does not allow non-Jews to purchase discounted apartments in haredi neighborhoods.

The High Court in London will discuss the lawsuit filed by two non-Jewish families against the Jewish Housing Association under Agudath Israel in London in the coming months.

The plaintiffs claim they can not get cheap apartments on the street they want, since they are not Jewish.
As reverse-racism, this is wrong. If it's offensive to deny folks of Jewish race the right to buy apartments in a non-Jewish neighborhood, then obviously it's wrong to deny folks of non-Jewish race the same in a mainly Jewish neighborhood. Oh, and look at one of the excuses one of the Haredi reps brought up:
"There is no reason why the non-Jews should push themselves into a crowded street of haredi Jews. What do they have to look for here? We do not buy apartments in their neighborhoods, and they do not have to push themselves. If they could not buy at all, then of course we would not stop them. But they can buy, just two blocks away. They just want to bother us."

Ita Simmons, who founded the Housing Association in 1981, told the Jewish Chronicle website that "they are trying to change the purpose for which the organization was founded. Why do non-Jews want to live on a street full of Hasidim?" a question.
Suppose it's because, on the surface, they feel safer there than they would in a neighborhood with Islamofascists around, as has been the case in much of east London for years already? Something the Haredis over there don't seem particularly interested in reversing, no matter how dangerous the Islamists in Britain have made it even there for Jews. Indeed, that's the only problem with this whole issue, yet nothing seemed to have come up about that.

And I don't buy the notion the Haredis aren't buying apartments in non-Jewish neighborhoods in Britain. I'm sure they are, certainly if they can "block-bust", and then turn a whole street into an enclave of their desire. Above all, a real shame they can't admit their approach shows no respect for the biblical theme of "love your neighbor as you would yourself", from Leviticus 19:17-18, IIRC.

USA Today confirms: Trump supporters across America say he's delivering

USA Today ran a survey of comments from readers who've decided he's delivering on his promises. Here's an excerpt that says:
As time went on I’m become much happier with my vote and I support Trump. I love that he is the first president in a long time who really supports Israel. Not just because I’m Jewish, but also because Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East.
And earlier this week, Trump and company delivered on their promise to move the US embassy to Jerusalem, so speaking from a local perspective, there's that. Now, even Guatemala's made the move as well, and that too can be considered a success by extension.

There's more successes he's had, I'm sure, that the MSM won't cover but are still out there, and he'll hopefully be able to deliver more within the next few years. As somebody who voted for Trump, I'm a happy camper.

Beit Shemesh city council officials arrested in corruption sting

As you probably guessed, they all appear to be ultra-Orthodox too:
A senior member of the Beit Shemesh municipal council along with nine other individuals were arrested by the Police Lahav 443 corruption unit on suspicion of illegal property dealings, the police announced on Sunday.

Moshe Montag, a city councilor from the Degel Hatorah Party, was named as the senior councilman who was arrested. He and the other suspects were brought in for questioning by the police units and on Sunday afternoon were brought to the court in Rishon Lezion as part of the ongoing investigation.

The court remanded the extension of Montag by five days. The court also extended by five days the remand of entrepreneur Leibel Waldman, a Satmar community activist and the person behind the Kiryat Joel project in Beit Shemesh, as well as Yitzhak Raber, a close associate of Montag, and Shlomo Eisenstein, a real estate lawyer in Beit Shemesh.

The police said Lahav 433 has been working in coordination with the tax authority in an undercover investigation into suspected bribery offenses and public corruption “for a long period of time.”
How many more of these Haredi officials in Beit Shemesh are that crooked? And how to get them ousted for good?

Jihadist on terror-watch list in France escapes custody

In another demonstration that France's police system is in dire need of reform, a jihadist on a terror-watch list escaped custody in what was apparently a planned break:
An inmate of a prison in Brest, north-west France, escaped his jailers Wednesday morning in an apparently intricately organised plot to get the terror watch-list male out of custody.

The 21-year-old man, presently serving a number of sentences for petty crimes including theft, is nevertheless on a French security services ‘S-File’ — a marker denoting he is considered a suspected radical — and was in the process of being transferred to a hospital for treatment from his prison.

Faking tying his shoelace during the transfer, the prisoner sprung up from his position and pushed past his three guards before jumping into a waiting blue-purple Peugeot car which sped away and burst through the closed hospital gates, reports radio network FranceBleu.

Justice Department sources quoted by the report state that in cases of inmates being transferred to hospital, they are usually informed on the day of the move to prevent the time and place being passed to contacts outside of prison in enough time to plan an escape. In this case, that procedure appears to have not been followed.

The report states the officers transferring the suspected radical were unarmed and made the move in an ordinary car without any police modifications. A union representative complained that the service was significantly undermanned, and there were not enough officers available to make the transfers properly.
Well then that has to change. This is exactly what's made their security system a total disaster and led to so many deaths and other crimes that could've been prevented.
